How to sell a gift voucher

Gift vouchers are a simple way to bring in money now and new customers later. In CRMit you issue a voucher for the amount, send it to the recipient, and let them spend it at the till. Each voucher carries its own balance, so it can be spent over several visits rather than all at once. Here is how it works.

1. Open Gift Vouchers

   From the CRMit menu on the left, open Gift Vouchers. This is where you issue and manage every voucher you sell, and see what is still unspent.

2. Issue a voucher for the amount

   Choose Issue voucher, pick the customer and enter the amount they want to buy. CRMit generates the voucher code for you. You can also set when it becomes valid and when it expires, or leave the expiry blank so it never runs out.

3. Take payment

   Take payment for the voucher as you would for any sale. If you sell vouchers on your online store instead, tick Activate Gift Voucher Fulfillment on the product and CRMit issues the voucher automatically as soon as the order is paid.

4. Send it to the recipient

   Fill in the recipient's name and email under Gifting and CRMit emails the code straight to them, with your gift message. Buying it as a present in advance? Set a Send on date and it will not land in their inbox until the day. You can resend the email at any time from the voucher list.

5. Redeem it against a future sale

   At the till, choose Gift voucher as the payment method and enter the code. CRMit checks the voucher is live and takes the amount off its balance. Anything left over stays on the voucher for next time.
